Overview:

  • An essential step-by-step guide on how to connect Ocerra with your MYOB file.

(!) Before connecting Ocerra with MYOB AccountRight, ensure you hold the administrator role for the MYOB file you intend to link. Remember, you will require the file name and password specific to the MYOB file — not your usual username or password. If you encounter difficulties retrieving the MYOB file credentials, consider creating a new user with administrator rights in MYOB specifically for this connection.

Connecting Ocerra with your MYOB File

Login to your Ocerra account, then follow these steps:

Step 1. Navigate to MYOB Account Right section of the menu and click Settings:

You will see Settings details, please enter your Company Login and Company Password here, e.g.:

Note: If the MYOB file password has never been changed, it will remain blank by default.

Step 2: Click Connect button:

Step 3: Select Company that you would like to connect Ocerra with and click Select AccountModel button:

Step 4: It should take you to the MYOB login page, enter your email and password to sign in - it will then ask you to grant permission to Ocerra to access your MYOB:

Step 5: If connection was successful (MYOB login and password entered correctly), you will see this Status:

Step 6. Import (sync) data from MYOB

To import data from MYOB, you will need to click sync on the required components in Ocerra for the first time. After the initial sync process, Ocerra will import new or updated information in 20 minutes intervals. For example, if you create a new supplier in MYOB, it will be automatically imported.

Syncing Jobs and Cost Centres

  • Enable Sync Jobs and Cost Centres, Click Save and click Sync.

Syncing other master components

  • Click Sync on each sync button - please wait for a result before clicking to the next Sync button. For example, after syncing Chart of Accounts, you will see your Accounts and Tax Codes. For example:

MYOB AccountRight is ready to use with Ocerra!

Troubleshooting sync process if not all data came through

Ocerra imports used data in the last 30-days. Therefore, some data may not be imported during the initial sync process (e.g. accounts). To fix this, update the Last Sync date to an older date, "save" and click Sync again. If new information has been imported, you will see a notification at the top right corner.

For example:

In some case, MYOB may require changing the Last Sync year to 1999. If still no luck, please contact support and will assist with importing all the required data from MYOB.

Timeout errors during sync process

During the synchronisation process, you may encounter a timeout error from MYOB, which will appear in the top right corner of your screen. This issue can occur when MYOB is overloaded and struggles to handle a large volume of information simultaneously. If this happens, please do not repeatedly click the sync button. Ocerra will automatically attempt to re-sync after a 5-10 minute interval.
