The Displayed total at the bottom of the Invoice List shows the gross value of the active invoices currently visible on that page. It is most useful when filters are applied to define a meaningful group of invoices.
It:
- Includes all active invoice rows shown on the current page, regardless of status.
- Respects any filters applied to the Invoice List.
- Includes only the current page, not all matching invoices across other pages.
- Shows credit notes separately under Credits, rather than deducting them from the Displayed total.
When is it useful?
Without filters, the Displayed total is simply the total of whichever invoices happen to appear on the current page, so it has limited business meaning.
It becomes more useful when filters define a meaningful group of invoices, for example:
- a particular supplier
- a particular status
- a date range
- a payment state
This can be useful for quickly checking the value of a small group of invoices visible on screen.
The Displayed total should not be used for reporting or reconciliation, as it is affected by filtering, page size and pagination.
