Ocerra automatically detects the orientation of scanned invoices and rotates them during processing where possible.
Occasionally, the orientation of a document cannot be detected reliably. In these cases, the invoice may appear sideways or upside down in the processing screen even though Ocerra has successfully extracted the invoice data.
Can I manually rotate an invoice in Ocerra?
Invoices cannot currently be manually rotated within the invoice processing screen.
The processing screen does more than display the invoice image. Ocerra aligns the document with extracted fields, line items, and selectable areas on the invoice. Rotating only the displayed image could cause these elements to appear in incorrect positions.
How can I view an invoice in the correct orientation?
If an invoice is not displayed in the expected orientation:
Open the original invoice using the PDF Window option under the More tab.
For scanned invoices, ensure the document is scanned in the correct reading orientation before uploading or sending it to Ocerra.
Scanning documents in their correct orientation also helps Ocerra's automatic orientation detection.
Why was the invoice data still extracted correctly?
Document orientation and invoice data extraction are separate parts of processing. In some cases, Ocerra can successfully recognise and extract the invoice information even when it cannot reliably determine the correct orientation for displaying the document.
If you regularly receive invoices that are displayed in the wrong orientation, please contact Ocerra Support with an example so the document can be investigated.
