Important update with MYOB Acumatica Version 2023.1.3

With the latest MYOB Acumatica version (2023.1.3), it is now mandatory for each user's password to meet the following criteria:

  • Passwords must be at least 14 characters long.
  • Passwords must contain at least one upper-case letter (A to Z), one lower-case letter (a to z), and one number (0 to 9) or symbol (e.g., !#$%^).

(!) Ocerra uses an API user to connect with MYOB. When MYOB Acumatica updated to version 2023.1.3, it automatically resets your API user's password to meet these new requirements. This reset breaks the connection between Ocerra and MYOB because the passwords no longer match.

Important: If you don't have the the required access level in MYOB to update the API user, please get in touch with your MYOB support to assist you with this.

To Restore the Connection:

  1. Check the user Login name in Ocerra under the Settings - MYOB Acumatica for MYOB Acumatica User.

For example: OcerraAPI

2. Navigate to your MYOB Acumatica - Users and search for this user.

3. Click Reset Passowrd and set a new password that meets the new requirements (at least 14 characters long, with upper-case letters, lower-case letters, and numbers or symbols).

4. Set to Never Expire and save (this may require to type in "Yes" to confirm that you would like the password never expire enabled).

Then navigate back to Ocerra and enter this passowrd in Ocerra to resotre the connection.

1. Log In to Ocerra: https://app.ocerra.com

2. Navigate to Settings - MYOB Acumatica: https://app.ocerra.com/#/master/acumatica-app

3. Click on Setting to Expand the configuration screen.

4. In MYOB Acumatica User: Enter a new login name (only if changed)

5. In MYOB Acumatica Passord: Enter a new password.

6. Click Save.

At the top you should see Status: Connection was successful.

If unsuccessful, please ensure the credentials you have entered are correct.

What to do if the Connection Status shows: "Your account is locked"

If you see this message, this means that you have tried to enter incorrect password too many times. Navigate back to MYOB to Unlock the API user, e.g.:

Please note you can't create a new password in Ocerra, you need to create a password in MYOB and then enter exactly the same password in Ocerra settings as shown above.

Important

When you update the password, the "Enable Connection" parameter will automatically turn off. This is intentional. Please make sure to turn it back on afterwards to ensure continuous synchronisation between the two systems.

Sharing API user with other third-pary apps

To maintain a seamless connection between Ocerra and MYOB, we suggest against sharing the API user details with any other third-party applications. This precaution ensures uninterrupted functionality and security for your integration. Each application should have its own API user.
